gastric ulcers in horses by horse veterinarian Dr James Giacopuzzi D.V.M

A conversation with James Giacopuzzi D.V.M - Gastric Ulcers

March 21, 2022

Recently we met up with James Giacopuzzi Dvm in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA where he has been practicing as an equine veterinarian for the past 28 years.
Dr. Giacopuzzi was first introduced to GastroPower a couple of years ago. At the time he had recently bought a new gastro-scope and was called to a barn in Rancho Palos Verdes for one of his customers. The customer had noted unusual behavior in the horse, including standing in a corner of the stall, not eating, and overly sensitive when girthing. These are all clinical signs of stomach pain which could be caused by gastric ulcers. Dr. Giacopuzzi scoped the horse to ensure the correct diagnosis, and discovered the horse had grade 3 level ulcers, which is quite serious.

Unfortunately the customer did not have the budget to treat her horse with the common veterinarian recommended omeprazole brand products, which can cost upward of $1000 for full treatment. Instead Dr. Giacopuzzi went with his gut (no pun intended!) and recommended her to put the horse solely on GastroPower for 30 days.
At the end of the 30 days he rescoped the horse, and was astonished to see that the horse's stomach was 100% clean of ulcers. For him a true testimonial to the efficiency of the product. In addition, the customer reported that the clinical signs of gastric ulcers the horse had been displaying were gone within the first 2-3 weeks of administering the GastroPower.
Needless to say, Dr. Giacopuzzi's has been recommending GastroPower to all of his customers ever since!
In his 40 years experience, he believes that 80% or more of all horses that go to shows often have grade 1-2 stomach ulcers. Since most of his current clients are hunter/jumpers, he wants 100% of them to use GastroPower on their horses. He understands that preventative care is the best care. "Don’t let them get there in the first place, prevention is the key” and in his opinion GastroPower should be the go-to gastric supplement. Additionally, he points out that GastroPower also contains Magnesium, minerals that supports bone strength, and over 70 additional beneficial trace minerals.
It is so important for us to have experienced and well-respected vets like Dr. Giacopuzzi able to see the benefits of our product at work on their customer's horses!
